It's July 8th Already!
The great adventure began July 1st and I sure was going to blog about it every day...oh how clever and informative I planned to be! The computer didn't work until now. Figures. So now is the blog beginning, which is different than the adventure beginning, but let me catch you up with some highlights...
So far these state magnets have gone up....New York, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and South Dakota...
New York: At our first pit stop at the Mohawk Valley Service Center, we stumbled upon part of The Erie Canalway; it was right in back with trails and all sorts of cool things to learn...like that there are canals in the world!
Michigan: We spent happy years in Ann Arbor; no place stays the same. We visited dear friends still there and in Ypsilanti. Cindy and Spencer sent us a live stream of their latest creative endeavor. Legend of the Smeet Frog Festival.
Illinois: More friends to visit...from 50 and more years ago! Michael and Jean showed us the joys of Urbana. Did you know Green House Homes are big here? Close to my heart...a powerful and loving way to do elder care.
Wisconsin: Another Harvest Hosts overnight at Basics Food Coop and Café. If you travel in a self-contained thingy and want to find interesting out of the way places, check out their app.
South Dakota: We found a secret hidden campground...you heard it here first. Beautiful tent or RV camping on Lake Andes - South Shore Recreation Area is over a dam from North Point Recreation Area. It isn't on the web; North Point folks directed us there.
