Confirmed! We are outstanding in our field.

Look closely...there we are in the Happy Breadbox Hen Wen...out...standing...in that field!  Need I say more?! It took us crossing four states to get there...Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and then Ohio, but we made it to the Evans Family farm where we stayed for a free night courtesy of Harvest Hosts.  Yes, outstanding, and a "pair-a -docs"!" Get it?

It was a long driving day, but there are things to see on the road!  Such as the town, Uranus. Uranus, with no disrespect to the planet...is being a bit disrespected in Missouri. I mean...we did see this set of signs...in neon: Uranus...Uranus Fudge...The Best Fudge comes from Uranus. Really? And no, we did not stop.

Speaking of "getting it," here is another thing I saw on the road. I just Love crows. Shout out to you Charlie! who loves crows, too!

And don't get me started on drivers...whew. Yet when I think of the big picture... really, for all the cars, semis, trucks, vans, strange hauler things, and "what is that's" we encountered...we saw no wrecks, and people were actually pretty cool about rules and stuff.  My sister Susie says that 'we only hear the negative stuff;' yup, I think she may have something there. Maybe we should start a blog about the positive things we encounter during the day.  Who's in?!

For example.... We pulled into a stop for gas, and I took Bear for his walk.

Bear: "Oh my gosh, can we go for a walk?! I'm desperate, I'm demented, I have to go for a walk! there are smells out there!  Let me free! I have to pee, and pee, and wait once more...pee!!!"

And then I put our trash in their trash, but I accidentally also threw in my pride hair bracelet. Luckily, I realized the loss before we pulled out. when we pulled in a woman was changing trash bags in all the can, so figured it was pretty clean...so I went back.

Me:  Hi there, to the two guys filling up, I'm just going to look in this trash don't mind me. And they didn't; we had a nice chat, and I found it!

I remembered the woman doing the trash and went in to just say thanks. I met her puppy Arnold who was a huge pup brindle boxer/pit mix and he goobered all over me. We had a lovely small interaction that lifted my spirits. Monty is a brindle, and Mac was a boxer/pittie, and life is good that way.

I think it's these small things that are antidotes to all the distress and stupid these days. OK, and yes, the 3rd indictment is a bit of a boost!  I'll take it all!

Small things...small, beautiful things ...Every place I walked I saw wildflowers and weeds that were just stunning. they were just...there. They were in landscaping rocks, dead grass, on the road, in metal drains...every time, even in the desert. So, I include here a few that John and I snapped, but their sisters and brothers are out there waiting for you!
